As temperatures begin to rise across the region, dive back into the swimming season as Council pools reopen following winter closures and maintenance works.
Whether you’re training, cooling off with the family or making the most of longer days, the return of pool season means there are plenty of opportunities to make a splash.
Gin Gin Swimming Pool
Gin Gin Swimming Pool will reopen for the new swim season on 19 September 2026.
Pool users will be welcomed back with a new retractable shade system currently being installed over the facility.
The motorised shade sail can be extended or retracted at the push of a button to provide flexibility throughout the day.
The system also features automatic wind sensors which will retract the sail during high wind conditions, helping protect the structure during storms and severe weather events.
With the finishing touches now underway, the project is expected to be completed prior to the pool reopening.
The Gin Gin Swimming Pool shade installation is a joint initiative of Bundaberg Regional Council and the Queensland Government.
Isis War Memorial Swimming Pool
Following its winter maintenance closure, the Isis War Memorial Swimming Pool has reopened and is ready to welcome swimmers.
A range of improvements were completed during the closure, including the replacement of the accessible toilet facility with a modern new amenity.
Flooring in the male and female amenities and change rooms was also refreshed to improve the visitor experience.
Works were additionally undertaken on the pool’s external wall, with deteriorated concrete treated and reinstated to help future proof the structure for years to come.
Norville Park Swimming Pool
Norville Park Swimming Pool reopened on 1 September after welcoming over 57,000 patrons across the last swim season.
The popular community facility offers another great option for residents looking to stay active, learn new skills or simply cool off as the weather warms up.
Bundaberg Aquatic Centre
The Bundaberg Aquatic Centre remains open year round, offering heated indoor swimming, programs and activities for all ages.
