Bundaberg Regional Council’s Be Active Be Alive program is back from Monday 21 September, bringing 10 weeks of free fitness sessions to pools, parks, and community venues across the region.
Round two of the 2026 season serves up favourite classes and fresh ways to move, stretch, strengthen and make the most of the warmer weather.
Mayor Helen Blackburn said the return of Be Active Be Alive was a great way to boost wellbeing and enjoy the outdoors as spring arrives.
“This popular initiative is all about helping people find movement that feels good, whether that’s a gentle stretch, a splash in the pool or a high‑energy workout,” Mayor Blackburn said.
“With the warmer weather settling in, it’s the perfect time to make the most of our beautiful region and the fantastic facilities we’re lucky to have right across Bundaberg.
“That includes our new Aquatic Centre which is making full‑season pool classes possible for the very first time.”
Council’s Community Liveability, Sport and Recreation portfolio spokesperson Councillor Carmen McEneany said Be Active Be Alive continues to provide the community with simple and accessible ways to stay active.
“What I love most about this initiative is how welcoming it is – every class is designed to be fun, inclusive and easy to join,” Cr McEneany said.
“We’re thrilled to add wheelchair basketball at PCYC Bundaberg to the line‑up this year as well.
“It’s another way to show there truly is something for everyone.”
Plan ahead and enjoy every moment
Parks, indoor and outdoor classes will run from 21 September to 29 November.
Thanks to the new Bundaberg Aquatic Centre, pool sessions will also run right across the program.
This a first‑time opportunity to enjoy free pool classes for the full 10 weeks.
Pool classes are free however standard pool entry fees apply.
