Bundaberg Regional Council has announced Australia’s leading leisure provider, Belgravia Leisure, as the operating partner of the Bundaberg Aquatic Centre.

With more than 30 years of experience in the leisure and recreation industry, Belgravia Leisure currently manages 250+ sport, leisure and tourism sites across Australia and New Zealand.

Mayor Helen Blackburn said she was pleased to announce Belgravia Leisure had been appointed to manage the facility after a competitive tender process.

“Belgravia is an experienced pool operator which has managed more than 20 greenfield projects in the last six years. Belgravia Leisure also partner with Swimming Australia to deliver GOswim, an acclaimed learn to swim program for all ages” Mayor Blackburn said.

“Their experience in the industry is clear through their service offering which will include membership fees to make regular swimming or access to their range of wellbeing programs more accessible and affordable for our community.

“The Bundaberg Aquatic Centre is so much more than just a pool,” continued Mayor Blackburn.

“It is a facility designed with a focus on inclusivity and accessibility that caters to every cohort of our community, whether it’s rehabilitation, health and wellbeing, learn to swim, family fun or competition.”

Belgravia Leisure CEO Nick Cox said Belgravia Leisure was honoured to be appointed manager and operator of the Bundaberg Aquatic Centre.

“Belgravia Leisure is proud to partner with Bundaberg Regional Council to manage this wonderful facility.

“This multi-purpose, state-of-the-art venue is designed to be a community space, with facilities and activities welcoming all ages and abilities, including children, families, youth, community groups, recreational and organised sports, and those with special needs.”

“This development will provide substantial year-round indoor facilities, addressing many community needs and allowing the region to no doubt become a hub for competitions with the incredible FINA standard, heated 50m pool.

We are looking forward to working with Council in connecting the community to leisure,” Mr Cox said.
