Supported by First 5 Forever, the Magical Storyland interactive exhibition is open from now until 21 November and allows children aged six and under to have fun exploring a fantasy world.
Bundaberg Regional Council Arts and Heritage portfolio spokesperson Cr John Learmonth said the exhibition was another great reason to visit the Gin Gin Library.
“Interactive exhibitions like this are a wonderful way to encourage young readers to visit the library and explore all it has to offer,” Cr Learmonth said.
“With Magical Storyland, children under the age of six can get lost in a fantasy world of castles, dragons, fairies and gnomes.
“It is another fantastic initiative from First 5 Forever to encourage early literacy and we hope this display will spark their creativity and imagination to maybe have fun creating their own fairytale story to share with friends and family.”
First 5 Forever
First 5 Forever is an early literacy initiative supporting Queensland families to talk, read, sing and play with their babies and young children in the first five years of their development.
Supported by the Queensland Government and State Library of Queensland, free resources and activities are provided to local libraries with special community-based sessions held throughout the year.
As part of the program the Gin Gin Library also hosts Story Play every Monday at 9.30 am during term time for children aged five and under and their caregivers.
