The region’s next artistic project could get a funding boost with a free information session planned to support prospective applicants to explore their options.
The Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) provides funding for projects that celebrate and promote the development of local arts in the region, with Bundaberg Regional Council recently approving grants for four projects.
Council’s Arts and Heritage portfolio spokesperson Councillor John Learmonth said the current RADF funding round was still open for further applications.
“Council has a total funding pool of $104,500 this financial year to dedicate to supporting projects led by local artists and community organisations,” Cr Learmonth said.
“The current funding round is open, so I’d encourage anyone planning a creative project for next year to look at the RADF guidelines to check their eligibility and consider applying.
“Larger projects can apply through the Open Round, closing 31 December, while Quick Response grants of up to $2,000 are available each month.
“Council’s Community Arts Development Officer can assist with the application process and guide new applicants through the documentation required.”
Showcase exhibition
To further encourage and support local creatives to apply for funding, Council will hold a showcase exhibition, highlighting the diversity of locally driven arts, cultural and heritage initiatives supported by RADF in recent years.
The exhibition will feature 43 projects and activities celebrating creativity and collaboration within the region’s arts community and will open with a networking event on Tuesday 25 November.
Cr Learmonth said the networking evening would provide invaluable insights for anyone interested in applying for RADF funding.
“The networking event is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the RADF program and hear from a panel of successful past applicants who will share their experiences with the funding process,” Cr Learmonth said.
“Attendees can hear about the inspiring arts projects happening across our region and potentially be inspired in their own creative endeavours.
“The evening will provide a valuable chance for local creatives to connect, collaborate and share ideas.”
Anyone interested in applying can contact Bundaberg Regional Council on 1300 883 699 and ask to speak with the Community Arts Development Officer for assistance with the application process.
