Tyrepower Bundaberg has credited its focus on investing in their staff and customer service as the key to winning at this year’s Bundaberg Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards.

They were presented the Growth Award, sponsored by Bundaberg Regional Council, in recognition of their efforts to grow their business locally.

Director Marlene Curreen said Tyrepower’s growth had been driven by a business-wide commitment to making access to their services as easy and fuss-free as possible for customers.

“Our team genuinely cares and that shines through in the way we serve our customers,” Marlene said.

“We prioritise transparency, communication and safety, making sure our customers understand their options and feel confident in the decisions they make.

“We’ve expanded our service capabilities, improved processes, introduced new technology, and invested heavily in training and safety.

“We also have solid, practical policies and procedures developed collaboratively with our team, so they make sense for the real world and support consistency across the business.

“Ultimately, our success is a direct result of a hardworking team that takes pride in doing things properly and looking after our customers.”

Marlene said it was incredibly rewarding for the team’s hard work to be recognised by the Bundaberg Chamber of Commerce.

“As any business owner knows, operating a local business comes with its challenges, so to be recognised for our efforts and progress really does mean a lot – especially when the recognition comes from within our own business community,” she said.

“It reflects the dedication of our team and the ongoing support of the Bundaberg community, which we’re extremely grateful for and genuinely humbled by.

“There’s real pride in seeing local businesses grow, employ locally and contribute to the region’s success, and being part of that journey is incredibly fulfilling.”

Mayor Helen Blackburn congratulated Tyrepower Bundaberg on the award win.

“It is commendable to see businesses in our region acknowledged for their dedication to excellence and growth,” Mayor Blackburn said.

“Council is honoured to sponsor the Business Growth Award as part of our commitment to supporting local enterprise and economic development.”

Bundaberg Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards 2025 were held on 15 November at Bundaberg Multiplex Sports and Convention Centre.
