Bundaberg Regional Council has nominated ALIVE Church to coordinate volunteer clean-up efforts and community donations following the March 2026 flooding event.
The local organisation is planning a volunteer “Mud Army” to help residents begin the recovery process, assisting with cleaning and clearing flood-affected homes and properties across the region.
Community members who would like to volunteer can register their interest at mudarmybundy.com.
Local Disaster Management Group Chair Mayor Helen Blackburn said the partnership would help ensure volunteer efforts were coordinated safely and effectively while supporting residents most impacted by the flooding.
“Our community has always shown incredible generosity during times of hardship and we know many people are eager to lend a helping hand,” she said.
“By working with ALIVE Church to coordinate volunteer efforts, we can ensure support reaches the people who need it most while keeping the process organised and safe for everyone involved.”
Residents who would like to assist with the clean-up effort are encouraged to contact ALIVE Church directly to register as a volunteer.
If you would like to make a donation please email info@alivechurch.au
Residents are reminded of the safety and health risks in flood impacted areas and are being urged to prioritise their safety and wellbeing during flood recovery.
To help navigate the days and weeks ahead, a suite of recovery resources is now available, including health advice, personal hardship assistance, clean‑up information and other essential support services.
