Bundaberg Regional Council is closely monitoring the impacts of the current global economic volatility however is continuing to deliver all services to the community.
There has been some commentary circulating locally suggesting bin collections will be interrupted due to soaring fuel prices however no such interruptions are currently being experienced in the Bundaberg Region.
Mayor Helen Blackburn said Council would continue to closely monitor the situation.
“We don’t yet know what the impacts of this current global crisis will be for our region but what I can say is that Bundaberg Regional Council will always work to prioritise essential services which include rubbish collection, roads maintenance and water and wastewater treatment,” Mayor Blackburn said.
“At the moment I can assure you that all bin collections are continuing as normal.
“I know that everyone is facing the impacts and challenges of the rising cost of living and Council is not immune to that.
“What I would ask is that in our region we all remain connected and fully informed and act with consideration knowing that everyone is feeling the impacts of the current global situation.
“These are circumstances outside of our control and we will manage any difficulties with the resilient spirit the Bundaberg Region is known for.”
