Bundaberg’s most glamorous night of the year is set to return with tickets now on sale for this year’s Mayor’s Ball.

The elegant, black tie charity event will grace the Bundaberg Multiplex on Saturday 11 July, offering attendees a night of glamour and goodwill.

Mayor Helen Blackburn said this year’s ball would be inspired by the theme Silver Linings, celebrating hope and the power of collective kindness within the community.

“The Silver Linings theme reflects the fact that even in difficult times we are a resilient community and when we come together we can create meaningful action,” Mayor Blackburn said.

The Mayor’s Ball features an auction and activities which funds for the Mayor’s Christmas Appeal which supports local families experiencing hardship during the festive season.

“In 2025 the Mayor’s Christmas Appeal, with the support of major sponsor Auswide, raised more than $75,000, providing 930 hampers and 225 gift cards to families across our region,” Mayor Blackburn said.

“That shows just how powerful our community can be when we rally together to support local families in need.”

Guests attending the Mayor’s Ball will enjoy a champagne cocktail on arrival, three course dining experience, specialised drinks package and live entertainment throughout the evening.

A highlight of the night will be award-winning speed painter Brad Blaze, who will create artworks live on stage to be auctioned throughout the evening.

Additional fundraising activities will include live and silent auctions, raffles, mystery prize boxes and donation opportunities designed to maximise support for local families.

Mayor Blackburn encouraged the community, businesses and organisations to secure their tickets to be part of this special evening.

“The Mayor’s Ball is a chance to enjoy a truly unforgettable night while making a real difference in people’s lives this Christmas,” she said.

“Gather your friends and colleagues, dress to impress and I look forward to seeing you there.”

  1. As a business owner in town, I help our community with many events. And will continue too. But this mayor I cannot support and I urge business owners to help the community but question this mayor’s integrity and this lame message of a silver lining. Campaigning on rate discounts, she has raised rates on commercial property nearly 30% without a single thing to help business. Let alone other rate payers. People in my sector have fled north, south and west. I can’t find a qualified person to help grow my business and there is no initiatives to assist. Yet I pay a third more for what? To then call the recent budget meeting when Jason Bartels raised real figures and concerns, shows that I cannot support this council continue. It is actually a disgrace and I am amazed at this ladies front. The business sector here, let alone the general population is not that stupid. Stop treating us as such and work for your constituents. My family and related businesses will not be supporting any council initiatives until they realise the nonsense that has set in to the leadership of our council. Sad times when you want to geniunely support an event but can only shake your head. 🫣
