Bundaberg Regional Council’s much-loved Pageant of Lights will return to the Bundaberg CBD on Thursday 3 December, officially launching the region’s Christmas celebrations.
Applications are now open for parade floats, food vendors, community entertainers and artisan stallholders to be part of one of the region’s most anticipated annual events.
The free community event will once again bring Bourbong Street to life with the official switching on of the Christmas lights, festive entertainment, artisan twilight market, delicious food and Christmas float parade.
Bundaberg Region Mayor Helen Blackburn said Pageant of Lights continued to be the highlight of Council’s Christmas program and a great opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate the festive season.
“Pageant of Lights is one of the region’s favourite Christmas traditions and we’re excited to welcome it back again this year,” Mayor Blackburn said.
“The event is a wonderful showcase of community spirit, creativity and local talent and we encourage community groups, schools, businesses and organisations to start planning how they can be involved.”
“Whether it’s creating a parade float, providing entertainment, serving food or showcasing handmade products through the artisan twilight market, there are many ways for people to be part of this special event.”
“We know the community looks forward to the Pageant of Lights every year and this is just one of the ways Council is committed to supporting our community through free events each year.”
Council is inviting businesses, community groups, performers, artisans and food vendors to submit applications to secure their place at the event.
