There has been an encouraging level of community interest following the recent announcement of Council’s Safe Spaces, Thriving Places project.
Rolled out with support from the Queensland Police Service and local organisations, the initiative is aimed at celebrating and enhancing our city centre to facilitate a social, economic and infrastructure uplift of the Bundaberg CBD.
Our latest post was a video featuring local councillors and it received a strong response, with many locals sharing their thoughts on the potential to revitalise the CBD as a welcoming space for businesses, visitors and residents.
Here’s some of the top comments we’ve seen so far:
- Looking forward to seeing this happen, to feel safe walking in the main area again, to have a safe area for those running a business and for the workers. It’s good to know that those in need will have that support, also. The heart of Bundaberg deserves to shine again. Thank you.
- It’s a wonderful CBD in need of a little tender loving care.
- This is great well done!
- About time!
- I love this message, and the strong female presence. Thanks BRC

Consideration also need to be given to have two disabled toilets.

They may also be able to use no cost solar schemes.
