Following a round that saw more than 960 residents jumping, dancing and diving into 89 Be Active Be Alive sessions, Council is now looking for fitness providers to help deliver the next 2026 program.

The popular, award‑winning initiative is delivered by Bundaberg Regional Council and sees successful applicants paid to deliver a mix of sessions across parks, indoor venues and local pools that the community can take part in for free.

Round two will run for 10 weeks from September through to November.

Park and indoor sessions will be delivered in the first half of the program, followed by pool classes in the second half.

Pool fitness classes are free however standard pool entry fees apply.

The aim is to offer a broad mix of free activities that encourage residents of all ages to build healthy habits, try new experiences and connect with their community.

Council welcomes EOIs from providers across the region including Bargara, Elliott Heads, Moore Park Beach, Innes Park, Burnett Heads, Childers, Gin Gin and Woodgate.

This regional spread helps ensure sessions are accessible to more communities and supports a diverse program offering.

Expressions of interest open Monday 3 August with applications closing Sunday 23 August.

Providers can apply via the Council website here.

About the program

Now in its fourteenth year, the award-winning program continues to be developed and refined under Council’s ‘Healthy and Active’ charter to provide an inclusive mix of activities across the region’s parks, pools and open spaces.

Fitness class types are dependent on fitness provider registrations.
