Not all hero’s wear capes!
Thanks to the quick thinking of Ashlin (Jacko) Chapman, a Plant Operator with the Parks Team, a local kayaker was rescued from a dangerous situation off Elliott Heads.
What began as a normal day soon took an unexpected turn when Ashlin spotted a kayaker offshore struggling in rough water.
Through his efforts to communicate and coordinate with Police and Surf Life Saving Queensland, the kayaker was safely brough to shore – thankfully with only a few bruises.
Jacko is a shining example of what it means to “be the best we can be” and the comments on our Facebook page agree!
