The region’s biggest celebration of local sport, health and wellbeing is back with the 2026 Move It Expo set to take over the Bundaberg Multiplex next month.
The free community event will bring together more than 40 local clubs, trainers and wellbeing providers on Sunday 15 February.
Attendees can explore interactive displays, take part in demonstrations and discover new ways to get active.
Community Liveability, Sport and Recreation portfolio spokesperson Councillor Carmen McEneany said the 2026 program was all about celebrating the region’s “love of sport” across an entire weekend.
“Move It Expo is always a highlight on our community calendar because it brings together everything we love about sport, fitness and wellbeing,” Cr McEneany said.
“It’s all under one roof, it’s free to attend and it’s a great way for families, individuals and newcomers to explore what’s on offer.
“Whether you’re looking to join a club, try a new activity or simply learn more about local services, the expo makes it easy and enjoyable,” she said.

New workshops to support local clubs and organisations
For the first time, the Move It Expo will be complemented by a full weekend of sector‑building activities, including the new Foundations for Thriving Community Clubs workshop series on Saturday 14 February.
The four workshops will provide expert, practical sessions on good governance, volunteer engagement, financial sustainability and creating safer club environments.
Cr McEneany said the initiative was designed to strengthen the region’s sporting and community organisations.
“These workshops are a wonderful addition to the weekend and highlight Council’s commitment to supporting local clubs,” she said.
“Not‑for‑profits are the heart of our sport and recreation community, and these sessions will give them the tools, confidence and connections they need to continue thriving.”
Weekend kicks off with Sports ON! information session
The weekend will begin on Friday evening with Local Sports ON!
This free event will give local sports clubs the opportunity to hear from Local, State and Federal Government representatives about the latest grant opportunities, practical strategies and programs designed to help strengthen their organisations.
The evening will be hosted by Member for Burnett Stephen Bennett, Member for Hinkler David Batt and Bundaberg Regional Council Deputy Mayor Councillor Steve Cooper.
The Move It Expo is free to attend and open to all community members.
