For more than 137 years Ritchies Jewellers has been part of Bundaberg’s story, serving generations of local families while remaining a proud fixture of Bourbong Street.
Established in 1889, the family business has traded from various locations along the CBD and continues to combine traditional craftsmanship with modern expertise from its newly renovated retail store.
Owner Trent Cullum and his team specialised in custom jewellery design and manufacture, remodelling services, jewellery repairs, watch repairs, gemstone identification and valuations.
“We also stock quality jewellery covering all price points, as well as clocks, watches and giftware,” he said.
The recent store refurbishment has created a bright and welcoming space for customers while reinforcing the business’s long-term commitment to Bundaberg’s city centre.
“We have an amazing history in Bundaberg and what better place for a store with such history than our historic Bourbong Street with its classic architecture?” Trent said.
“Our newly renovated store provides a bright, inviting space that contributes to the vibrancy of Bourbong Street.”
For the Ritchies team, the business is more than jewellery – it’s about being part of the community and creating lasting connections with customers.
“We pride ourselves on being a friendly, helpful local presence that makes everyone feel welcome,” Trent said.
“I love hearing stories from our customers that their grandparents purchased their rings from Ritchies decades and decades ago.
“I also love being able to offer services rivalling the best jewellery stores in the country, right here in Bundaberg.”
As a long-standing CBD business, Ritchies Jewellers is also supporting Bundaberg Regional Council’s Safe Spaces, Thriving Places campaign, which aims to encourage a safe, welcoming and vibrant city centre for businesses, residents and visitors.
“The Safe Spaces, Thriving Places initiative is fantastic and is making real strides in improving the vibe for all,” Trent said.
“While the CBD has faced challenges recently, this initiative is a fantastic step toward reinvigorating the area.”
