Local providers interested in delivering Bundaberg Regional Council’s popular free fitness sessions are invited to apply for the upcoming round of the Be Active Be Alive program.
The popular, award-winning initiative sees the successful fitness provider applicants paid to deliver free indoor, outdoor and pool-based fitness sessions to the community.
Council also welcomes expressions of interest from providers in Childers, Gin Gin, Moore Park Beach and Woodgate to help ensure a broad regional offering across the program and make sessions accessible to more communities.
Round 2 of the 2025 program will run for 9–10 weeks from October through to December.
Park and indoor sessions will be delivered in the first half of the program, followed by pool classes.
Community Liveability, Sport and Recreation portfolio spokesperson Councillor Carmen McEneany said the program offered valuable opportunities for local providers.
“Be Active Be Alive gives fitness providers a chance to showcase what they do best while contributing to a healthier, more active community,” Cr McEneany said.
“It’s a great way to build visibility, connect with new clients and be part of something that promotes health and wellbeing across the region.
“We encourage providers of all fitness styles to get involved and help deliver a program that’s inclusive, energetic and community-focused.”
Expressions of interest are now open, with applications closing Friday 12 September. Providers can apply via the Council website here.
About the program
Now in its thirteenth year, the popular and award-winning free Parks and Pools program delivered more than 360 classes to nearly 5,040 participants in the past 12 months alone.
The Be Active Be Alive program continues to be developed and refined under Council’s ‘Healthy and Active’ charter to provide an inclusive mix of activities across the region’s parks, pools and open spaces.
Fitness class types are dependent on fitness provider registrations.
