Bundaberg Regional Council is adding extra sparkle to A Moore Park Beach Christmas this Saturday with a festive stall where children can paint and take home their very own Christmas bauble.

Proceeds from the sales will support local families through the Mayor’s Christmas Appeal as well as the Moore Park Beach Arts Inc.

The baubles feature designs from the past three years of the Mayor’s Christmas Appeal and will be available to paint for $5.

Council will also have the brand-new 2025 baubles on sale for $10.

With carols and Christmas cheer filling Moore Park Beach this weekend, Mayor Helen Blackburn said the bauble-painting stall was the perfect way to blend festive fun with community support.

“The Mayor’s Christmas Appeal is about bringing joy and relief to families who need it most at this crucial time of year,” Mayor Blackburn said.

“By painting their own bauble, children can create a special keepsake while also helping support others in our community.”

President of Moore Park Beach Arts Inc. and event organiser Trish Mears said A Moore Park Beach Christmas was always a special celebration for the whole family.

“Our Moore Park Beach Christmas Choir, made up of community members and school children, is always a highlight, along with other stage entertainment,” Trish said.

“Sandology with his amazing sand sculpture, 100 market stalls and activities for the kids are also favourites,” Trish said.

“Of course Santa is always a crowd favourite as he arrives on the Moore Park Beach Rural Fire Truck.

“This year he’ll be handing out good quality preloved books that have been donated by the community.”

Trish said the bauble-painting activity would be a special part of the event.

“The baubles are beautiful but will be even more special when decorated by the children.

“It will be something they can take home and decorate their tree for years to come.”

Trish said the Mayor’s Christmas Appeal was an important part of the season, helping those in need and sharing the spirit of Christmas.

“We are very pleased to be part of it all and thank Council for including us.”
