Exclusion area: potential asbestos materials

Fencing and signage has been installed as Bundaberg Regional Council investigate potentially hazardous material at Pyefinch Blvd.

Bundaberg Regional Council has cordoned off a grassed area on Pyefinch Boulevard as a precaution following the potential identification of materials containing asbestos.

The area is adjacent to the Bundaberg Aquatic Centre car park.

Mayor Helen Blackburn said temporary fencing and signage was now in place.

“The area has been cordoned off as a precaution while testing and investigations are underway,” she said.

“Community members must stay clear of the fenced area.”

Access to the Bundaberg Aquatic Centre is not impacted by these investigations.
